A privacy impact assessment (PIA) identifies and evaluates the potential effects that a project, initiative, or proposed system or scheme may have on privacy. In general, it is best practice to conduct a preliminary PIA (PPIA) prior to starting a full PIA.
Our Office has developed the following resources regarding PIAs to assist public bodies which custodians can also use. While PHIA does not require our Office to review custodians’ PIAs, we are available to assist custodians with any health-specific PIAs.
